Robert J. McWhirter Bids for Supreme Court Seat

Justice Robert Brutinel of the Arizona Supreme Court announced an effective retirement date of October 31, 2024. This leaves a seat open for appointment on the court, and Robert McWhirter is one of 17 individuals who threw their hat into the ring for consideration.

This group will be paired down to three by the Commission on Appellate Court Appointments, from which Governor Hobbs will select her appointee.

The Commission meets on November 22, 2024 in a forum open to the public. The meeting notice and details will be published to the Commission's website prior to the meeting.
